25 meter Abseil at The Shelter Rock
The 7 meter abseil on the north side of the rock and the 25 meter abseil on the south side is an ideal opportunity for those who wish to experience abseiling without having to walk all the way to the cliff face.

This adventure can be enjoyed by adults, children more than 1.2 meters tall and is a fantastic team building event!

You do not need any previous experience and all equipment is provided.

Your abseil experience
You arrive at Base Camp where you register. A briefing on what to expect and safety issues is conducted in the reception area at Base Camp. Gear is issued before you are transported to the end of the mountain road from where you walk to The Shelter Rock.

All participants gather at the foot of the north face of the rock and encourage each other as they take their first abseiling steps. After completing the north face abseil participants progress to the south face with its vertical drop.

Qualified instructors will give you ample opportunity to gain the confidence to enjoy the experience.

Requirements
Anyone in good health and fit enough to handle trail hiking, can do the Abseil at the Shelter Rock. Wear loose fitting clothing and good shoes (tennis shoes, light hiking boots etc.; no sandals). Long hair must be secured. Use lots of sunblock. Bear in mind that it becomes exceptionally hot on the Magaliesberg.

Allow at least 3 hours for the adventure.
Not recommended for children less than 1.2 meters in height and at least 10 years old.

Bring along your own refreshments and bottled water.
